Ms. Hoshino, Special Adviser to the Regional Director, spoke at the “Global Talent Development Seminar” hosted by Fukuoka City.

Speakers from the United Nations, the World Bank, and JICA introduced their respective career paths, as well as their staff and internship recruitment systems.

The seminar brought together many university students and educators, mainly from Fukuoka City as well as other prefectures, and lively and engaging discussions continued even after the closing of the event.

We hope that this seminar will serve as an opportunity for young people to take a step toward playing an active role on the global stage in the future.

Ms. Ihoroi, Assistant Programme Management Officer, delivered a lecture at The University of Kitakyushu.

In the lecture, she presented the UN-Habitat’s vision for sustainable urban development, its projects and initiatives, as well as career development.

During the Q&A session, we received many questions from students about the role the UN-Habitat and project examples to address urban challenges across the Asia-Pacific region. Thank you to all the students who participated!

UN-Habitat ROAP held the 3rd Networking Seminar at Tokyo Platform for Sustainable Cities in Asia and the Pacific (Tokyo-SUSCAP).

The first panel session featured the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and companies that have previously collaborated with ROAP, focusing on the collaboration case studies. The second panel session was on “Green Urban Development “ toward GREEN×EXPO 2027, with participation from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), the City of Yokohama, and AgVenture Lab. During both panel discussions, participants deepened their understanding of Japan’s international cooperation initiatives, as well as its technologies and expertise. There were also active exchanges of views on approaches to addressing urban challenges and the potential for public–private partnerships.

Furthermore, the Co-creation Network Session with eight Japanese companies and organizations, provided a meaningful opportunity to share challenges and needs and explore new collaboration opportunities with UN-Habitat Country offices.
