With extreme heat becoming a critical challenge worldwide, the Asia-Pacific region is experiencing a particularly high impact due to its dense urban centers, vulnerable populations, and rapid urbanization. Aligned with the Secretary-General’s call to action and building on the global concept developed in partnership with UNEP and other collaborators like C40 and GCoM, this initiative advances a unique regional response. ROAP proactively seeks regional partnerships and resources to ensure immediate action.

Within broader “Scorching Cities” programme, the Asia-Pacific Programme on Urban Heat seeks to address the urgent need to build resilience against extreme heat impacts in cities across the region.
