The Fourth Network Seminar of the Fukuoka Platform for Sustainable Cities in Asia and the Pacific (Fukuoka–SUSCAP)

The United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat) promotes sustainable urban development toward the achievement of SDG Goal 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. The Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific (ROAP), established in Fukuoka in 1997, leads initiatives in 15 country offices and around 300 staff members working on various projects in partnership with national governments in Asia and the Pacific Region.

The Fourth Network Seminar will be held, bringing together Heads of UN-Habitat Country Offices and representatives from all 16 countries and areas in the Asia and the Pacific Region—Afghanistan, Cambodia, China, the Pacific, India, Iran, Lao PDR, Malaysia, Myanmar, Mongolia, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Sri Lanka & Maldives, Thailand, and Viet Nam.

Under the theme of “Resilient and Sustainable Urban Development,” the seminar aims to deepen understanding of Japan’s international cooperation initiatives, as well as its technologies and expertise. Through interactive discussions in small groups during Co-Creation Network Session, participants will share challenges and needs, and explore possibilities for co-creation with UN-Habitat country offices.

We look forward to the participation of companies and organizations interested in sustainable urban development in Asia and the Pacific Region.
