The 6th Asian City Journalist Conference : Strengthening Disaster Resilience of Cities ~disaster prevention and mitigation at community levels~

The 6th Asian City Journalist Conference

In recent years, natural disasters which are caused partly in affect by climate change have frequently occurred in Asia. While many of these disasters are difficult to prevent or predict, to minimize damages of natural disaster is very important, not only to create disasters resilience in cities but also to strengthen disaster prevention capacities at community levels, through formal and informal education systems, local community networks, and voluntary organizations for disaster prevention.
In this conference, journalists made presentations about natural disasters in their cities and activities for disaster prevention and discussed how we can increase disaster prevention capacities and skills at community levels.
